Mercato Roma, Gasperini awaits Raspadori and Zirkzee with the support of Friedkin

Gasperini’s, it should be noted, was neither an outburst nor an attack on sporting director Frederic Massara but a decisive message to the players, the fans and the entire environment. Given what has been built so far, the coach’s reasoning is in full agreement with the club, “it is time to intervene to make concrete possibilities that would otherwise be nullified by the obvious gaps in the squad that the first part of the season has highlighted”.

The main operations of a January transfer window which could also offer other opportunities are the well-known ones, which lead to a decisive strengthening of Roma’s offensive qualities: Massara will do everything possible to deliver as soon as possible Jack Raspadori and Joshua Zirkzee to Gasperini. Not two strikers to be chosen from a list of names but two footballers “identified for some time due to their characteristics, techniques, physical and perspective, and for their knowledge of the Serie A championship”.

The timing and methods of the two arrivals do not depend solely on Roma but, the sources interviewed insist, “everything needed will be done to put Gasperini in a position not to waste the work done so far”.
