Berlin MPs get 477 euros more in diet

The press office of the House of Representatives did not initially respond to a request. However, the state parliament law regulates that parliamentarians’ diets are automatically adjusted to the development of their earnings on January 1st. The benchmark is the so-called nominal wage index, which is determined by the Berlin-Brandenburg Statistics Office. According to the law, the decisive factor is the index for the previous year – and according to a statement from the Office of Statistics published in February, it was 6.2 percent.

According to media reports, the flat rate for the parliamentary offices will also be increased – from 3229 to 3304 euros. This corresponds to an increase of 2.3 percent, i.e. in line with inflation in Berlin. According to reports, for the employment of up to four employees, the flat rate increases from 7,325 to 8,057 euros per month.
