Estonia warns Russia that it will shoot its military if they cross the border

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna, has denounced that incidents caused by Russia on the border are becoming more frequent and warned that he will shoot Russian soldiers who cross, after incidents of this type were recorded last week on the Narva border.

Tsahkna has assured that there have been several occasions in which Russian soldiers without insignia on their uniforms, whom he has referred to as “little green men”, have appeared at the border. “Let them test us,” he urged, while ensuring that they will shoot down planes that violate their airspace.

“I say it bluntly. If those little green men cross our border, we will shoot them,” the head of Estonian diplomacy warned in an interview published this Wednesday on the Polish news portal O2.

“It was not the first time we saw them,” Tsahkna said, acknowledging that, however, it was “nothing serious,” although just in case they chose to close the Narva border crossing. “We monitor them constantly,” he said.

These incidents took place last week, Estonia warned, after a hovercraft with Russian border agents crossed the Narva River and approached the pier in the Estonian village of Vasknarva. Three of these people disembarked and were walking along that dock.
