Kristin Olsoni, founder of Klockriketeatern, has died

Supervisor and theater director Kristin Olson has died.

He died on December 23 after a long illness at the age of 88. His family has told him about it, says the press release of Helsinki’s Klockriketeattern.

Olsoni and her husband Martin Kurtén (1935–2013) founded that theater in 1991.

Olsoni was the theater’s artistic director until 2005. His followers Dan Henriksson says in the release that Olsoni leaves behind a valuable legacy.

In the year 2004 Olson sai the president of the republic Tarja Halonen awarded by the Pro Finlandia medal.

Olsoni also served, for example, as the principal of a Swedish-language theater school.

During his career, he also worked as a dramaturg and director in all Finnish-Swedish theaters and had many successful directing assignments in Sweden and Norway, the release states.
