NIS 310 million will be invested in the peripheral settlements: a revolution in the fields of research and AI

56 million shekels were invested in “information baskets” and science centers in over 200 municipalities, designed to strengthen informal science and technology education. NIS 141 million was invested in the establishment of eight new regional physics and excellence institutions, most of them in the social and geographic periphery and for the first time also in the Bedouin society (in Kaseifa) and a Druze settlement in the Western Galilee.

In addition, the ministry led an investment of about 60 million kel in the assimilation and establishment of artificial intelligence technology for the benefit of the citizen. Among the approved projects: 27 AI projects in 43 local authorities and a total amount of approximately NIS 56 million, allocated to improve service to the resident, streamline licensing and collection processes, strengthen urban security and smart management.

At the same time, the “AI for every student” program was launched this year in approximately 140 municipalities, designed to expose thousands of male and female students to the technologies of the future. “The local authorities are the front line of the service to the citizen”, pointed out Gamliel – “the investment we are leading turns innovation, science and artificial intelligence into a practical tool in the hands of the heads of the authorities for better education, more efficient service and a real reduction of disparities all over the country and in Judea and Samaria”.
