The Government advances with the agenda of privatization of public companies

The official announced that today he registered in the Public Registry the last of these transformations, which was the corresponding “Ferrocarriles Argentinos Sociedad del Estado (SE)”, a company that became “Ferrocarriles Argentinos Sociedad Anónima Unipersonal (SAU)”.

Vítolo pointed out that “…with this inscription, the reorganization process of all the companies of the National State is completedordered by the President of the Nation, Javier Milei, through art. 48 of the Decree of Necessity and Urgency No. 70/2023, by which it was established that companies or companies with participation of the State, whatever the type or corporate form adopted, would be transformed into Public Limited Companies, so as to be subject, for all purposes, to the prescriptions of the General Law of Companies No. 19,550, on equal terms with companies without state participation and without any public prerogative.

The organization had already registered the transformation of the Railway Infrastructure Administration, General Administration of Ports, Public Contents, Edu.Ar, Argentine Air Navigation Company, Military Fabrications, Railway Operator, Argentine Radio and Television, Casa de Moneda and Telam.

Vítolo highlighted the work carried out by the Agency for the Transformation of Public Companies in this field, which acted as a temporary Special Executing Unit in accordance with arts. 29 and 30 of Decree 644/2024.

“When the President of the Republic announced at the time his decision to follow this path of transformation of the business structure that was nested in the State, to place state companies on equal terms and competitiveness with the private sector, there was a certain general skepticism because this type of projects had been announced several times in recent decades, but had never been able to come to fruition. Today, seeing that the objective has been met, That skepticism has disappeared and hope is rebornby confirming that a process of transformation of the State under efficient and peaceful mechanisms is possible and can be carried out if there is a firm and consistent political decision on the part of the rulers,” concluded Vítolo.
