Electric cars are recording a huge growth in sales in the European Union, these are the most popular models

When the whole year is added up to the end of November, 2,276,161 fully electric vehicles were registered in Europe, which is about 27% more than last year. Plug in hybrids reached 1,139,192 registrations, with a growth of around 33%. In translation, electricity and charging from the socket are growing faster than most of the classic categories, and without this growth the overall market would look weaker.

It is interesting that the change is not only seen through “one hit model”, but also through the wider picture of the manufacturer. In November, among the best-selling electric models were the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, and the Škoda Elroq is also pushing hard. As for brands, in November Volkswagen was at the top in terms of the number of electric car registrations, and Tesla was right behind, with increasingly strong competition, including Chinese brands that are increasingly entering the top lists.

For customers, this dynamic usually means two things. The offer in 2026 will be even wider, especially in the middle range where the biggest battle is being fought, so there will be more choices for a similar budget. At the same time, as the market is filled with new models, manufacturers are increasingly trying to attract customers with equipment and promotions, which is good news if you follow prices and wait for the right moment.
