Through its subsidiary Ngan Hiep Real Estate, Novaland holds more than 24% of the capital of seafood enterprise Seaprodex, helping to diversify the ecosystem besides real estate.
In a report sent to the State Securities Commission (SSC) this afternoon, Ngan Hiep Real Estate Joint Stock Company announced that it had just purchased more than 30 million SEA shares of Vietnam Seafood Corporation (Seaprodex) on December 23. The transaction has made this business a major shareholder in Seaprodex with an ownership rate of 24.03%.
Ngan Hiep is a subsidiary of Novaland Group (NVL) with an ownership rate of 99.98% of charter capital. This company is also known as the investor of the NovaWorld Ho Tram project – Wonderland and Habana Island divergence. These are two divisions that have delivered more than 200 products to customers.
Seaprodex is a state-owned enterprise established in 1976, operating in the field of exploitation, farming, processing and export of seafood. During the period when the economy was still subsidized, Seaprodex played a core role in Vietnam’s seafood industry, being the focal point for organizing seafood exports to major markets such as Japan, Europe and the (former) Soviet Union.
From 2024 until now, Seaprodex’s shareholder structure has undergone many changes when large investors such as Gelex Group (GEX) and SSG Group respectively became major shareholders but then withdrew capital. Currently, the largest shareholder is the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) holding 63.38%.
This is not the first time Novaland participates in Seaprodex. Previously in December 2023, subsidiary Nova Hospitality bought 18.64% of SEA capital. However, just about half a month later, Nova Hospitality registered to sell 18 million SEA shares, and at the same time the market recorded a corresponding purchase order from HD Fund Management Company (HD Capital).
Novaland said that the recent stock purchase transaction of Ngan Hiep Company is a long-term investment, aiming to diversify the ecosystem in addition to the core real estate industry. “The group is looking for investment opportunities consistent with its business strategy, preparing for a period of strong growth after restructuring,” a NVL representative added.
Novaland said that up to now, the first phase of the restructuring process has been basically completed, key projects have made positive legal progress, and are sponsored and committed to accompany by domestic banks. Most of the ongoing projects have restored their construction process, delivered more than 6,000 products as well as received certificates for thousands of products after a long period of stagnation.
Accumulated in the first 9 months of the year, NVL recorded total consolidated net revenue of VND 5,398 billion. Of which, net revenue from sales reached nearly 4,956 billion VND, an increase of 33% over the same period, recorded from the handover of projects such as NovaWorld Phan Thiet, NovaWorld Ho Tram, Aqua City, Sunrise Riverside, Palm City… They lost 1,820 billion VND, mainly due to a decrease in financial revenue.
Novaland’s total outstanding loans recorded more than 64,000 billion VND, of which total short-term loans were about 32,000 billion VND. This enterprise said it has simultaneously implemented many practical solutions to handle each group in the debt structure, trying to ensure investors’ rights.
