Insiders estimate the couple’s total expenses over the past years to be between 300,000 and 500,000 euros.

The Knoops couple succeeded in their aim, Borsato was acquitted. Definitely now, because the Public Prosecution Service recently announced that it will no longer appeal. No real surprise, as the evidence was very thin.

The course of events naturally means that Borsato, as the winner in this file, can reclaim the attorney’s fees incurred. Although the court must decide whether all costs quoted are reasonable. It may be that Borsato will not recover all costs because it was not obligatory to engage the most expensive lawyers in the Netherlands.
