HIFK lost again in Switzerland – Leo Komarov heated up the feelings

HIFK suffered their third loss in the traditional Spengler Cup, when the home team Davos won 3–0 on Monday evening.

Czech striker Philip Zadina scored the home team’s opening goal in the first period. HIFK’s goalkeeper sank the kuti he sent from afar Hugo Alnefeltin I pushed behind the mask.

Davos increased his lead in the second set when Simon Ryfors hit the return puck of Alnefelt’s save.

HIFK was really close to narrowing it down in the third period, but after a lengthy video review, the match’s referee decided that the puck did not cross the Davos goal line.

The last nail in HIFK’s network hit Tino Kessler. The goal came in the final moments of the match, when HIFK was chasing a goal without a goalkeeper.

In the ranks of the home team, there was a man familiar to HIFK: the striker Leo Komarov. His reunion with his ex-teammates was intense.

In the opening set, HIFK’s racquetball Ilari Melart and Komarov scuffled so much that the jury had to intervene in the game.

Komarov, 38, moved to Davos for the Spengler Cup. He has been without a club in the early season. The previous two seasons, Komarov represented HIFK.

HIFK played In the Spengler Cup, three matches, all of which ended in defeat. Sparta Praha beat the Helsinki team 4–1 and Fribourg-Gottéro 4–3.
