Reform to improve the work of social workers is expanding to employees of private structures

Yariv Levin, who holds the post of Minister of Labor, signed an expansion decree of the second stage of the A-Eseg (Achievement) reform for social workers. This decree will allow about 6,000 employees of private firms to also receive wage increases provided for by the reform initiated by the Histadrut and the Social Workers Union, the press service of the All-Israel Trade Union Association reports.

Among the main points of the reform: the base salary will be significantly increased in accordance with the new salary table and additional updates for 2026 and 2027, and a one-time bonus of NIS 2,700 will be paid.

​​This decree will affect employees of rehabilitation centers for people with mental disorders, services for people with disabilities, boarding schools and children’s and youth organizations, programs and shelters for victims of domestic violence, etc.

Acting Histadrut Chairman Roi Yaakov commented on the expansion of the reform: “This important step, which improves the wages of many thousands of people, is the result of the great work of the Histadrut and the Social Workers Union for the benefit of this important group of workers. I would like to thank the Social Workers Union President Inbal Hermoni for her important work on behalf of social workers working for the benefit of the Israeli people in any situation. The Histadrut is proud of this achievement and will continue to work in the interests of Israel’s workers and the country’s economy.”
