England: Drama on the North Sea! Mother and daughter washed into the sea

York (England) – The North Sea can be a beast. What a quiet moment on More began, ended in tragedy: a mother and a helpful passerby are dead. A 15-year-old is missing.

Drama im English North Sea coastal town: Student Grace (15) and her mother Sarah K. (45) stood on a staircase that led down to the beach and watched the huge waves from there. Then the shock: a large wave hit the girl in Withernsea and dragged her into the ice-cold water.

Eyewitnesses report dramatic minutes. Cafe owner Paul Whitehead, 60, said the teenager was on a lower step when a “huge wave” hit her and swept her away.

The mother didn’t hesitate for a second and ran into the water to reach her daughter. The danger was enormous, the waves were up to 3.60 meters high.

The current is too strong

Walker Mark (67) also intervened. The passerby recognized the teenager’s distress – and also went into the North Sea. A selfless rescue attempt against wind, cold and violence of the water.

But the current was stronger. Witnesses later reported that the mother and the helper had almost reached the girl. But suddenly the three of them could no longer be seen in the waves.

The girl is officially missing

Hours later, rescue workers were able to rescue the hero Mark R. from the waves; he died shortly afterwards. The mother of 15-year-old Grace was also found dead and brought to shore.

The girl is currently officially missing, but authorities say she is dead.

The son of the dead helper said goodbye Facebook emotional about his father: “Bye dad, I miss you and will never forget you as a true hero and role model.”
