Motorola It did not go unnoticed by the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the largest consumer technology event in the US, which in January usually opens the launch season for many technology companies. In this case, they presented a new generation of ultra-premium cell phonesin a strong commitment to design, productivity and artificial intelligence as the central axis.

The strongest announcement of the Lenovo Tech World 2026 event, which took place in the majestic Las Vegas Sphere, was the arrival of its first phone with Fold formataccompanied by the debut of a new family of ultra-premium phones and an AI platform that promises to function as the user’s “digital memory,” regardless of the device.

motorola razr fold: the foldable that aims for productivity

Motorola Fold, with a tablet-type design, will compete this year with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold in Argentina.

After creating the segment with Flip devices, Motorola took seven years to give the great leap to large folding. This Fold model adopts a book-type format, closer to that of a compact tablet. Its objective, like others on the market, is clear: it is focused on productivity and multitasking, like a pocket notebook.

Closed, it offers a fully functional 6.6-inch external screen, allowing you to use the device like a traditional smartphone. When unfolded, an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO panel appears, designed to run several applications simultaneouslywork with floating windows and take advantage of a larger visual space.

The device is compatible with Moto Pen Ultrawhich expands its use for note-taking, sketching, and quick editing. In addition, it integrates artificial intelligence functions such as Catch Me Up, which summarizes relevant information, and Next Move, which anticipates actions based on the user’s context.

In the photographic section, the razr fold incorporates a 50 megapixel triple camerawith Sony LYTIA main sensor, ultra-wide-angle lens with macro mode and a periscopic telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It also allows video recording in Dolby Vision and has advanced stabilization, targeting content creators looking for versatility in a single device.

motorola signature: a new ultra premium range is born

Motorola Signature, the new premium model with a focus on mobile photography.

The second key announcement was Motorola Signature, a new family of devices that directly targets the premium segment of mobile photography. In fact, its absolute differential is its camera module, the most sophisticated that the brand has developed so far.

The device combines an ultra-slim design, premium materials and a four 50 megapixel camerasaimed at advanced computational photography. Precisely the photographic section was recognized by DXOMARK – an independent technological quality evaluation laboratory – who gave it the Gold Label Camera award for its high standards of excellence in image.

Inside it incorporates the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, manufactured in 3 nanometers, accompanied by a dedicated AI engine for local tasks. The battery is 5200 mAh, which offers up to 52 hours of autonomy, and 90 W TurboPower to recharge the phone in just 7 minutes.

In addition to all this, the 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED screen, together with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and Sound by Bose, reinforces the multimedia experience.

However, one of the most relevant points is the promise of up to seven years of updates of Android and security patches, a policy that aligns it with the most demanding standards of the premium market.

Motorola Qira: an AI that connects all devices

Qira, Lenovo’s new AI and Motorola cell phones.

Beyond hardware, Motorola introduced Qira, its new unified artificial intelligence platform. The objective is for the user to be able to continue tasks, retrieve information and maintain context regardless of whether you use a cell phone, a PC or a wearable.

Qira integrates the functions of motorcycle there with shared developments with Lenovo and is supported by alliances with companies such as Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm e Intel. AI learns habits, remembers previous interactions, and reduces reliance on multiple apps for everyday tasks.

Project Maxwell.

Within its experimental developments, Motorola showed a preview of Project Maxwella small device that has the ability to understand the environment in real time and provide immediate responses, without depending on a screen. Depending on the brand, “sees what the user sees, hears what they hear and understands what they say”.

Developed by engineers at 312 Labs, Motorola’s advanced innovation laboratory, Project Maxwell proposes a AI native wearable companion that no longer depends on taking your cell phone out of your pocket, unlocking the screen or opening an app to interact with artificial intelligence.

The idea is that AI is available at all timesfrictionless, naturally integrated into everyday life.

At the moment, this ambitious device is just a prototype which still has no commercial future. That does not mean that it serves as a basis for exploring and influencing future Motorola commercial products.

The commercial strategy is completed with the expansion of the ecosystem moto thingswhich adds new accessories such as speakers developed together with Bose (moto sound flow), smart watches (moto watch) and tracking devices (moto day 2). Motorola’s premise for 2026 is clear: strengthen a integrated ecosystem where the phone remains the centerbut not the only protagonist.
