6 excellent devices at Tech Awards 2025

Vivo X300 Pro won in the excellent smartphone category, while Xiaomi scored a double award at Tech Awards 2025 on January 8 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Excellent phone: Vivo X300 Pro

Achieving a score of 8.86, Vivo X300 Pro surpassed Xiaomi 15 Ultra by only 0.01 points to win the Excellent Phone category of Tech Awards 2025. Vivo’s smartphone also broke the iPhone’s monopoly for two consecutive years of winning the previous title.

X300 Pro is a smartphone positioned by Vivo for professional photography lovers with a three-lens camera cluster, including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 200-megapixel telephoto lens and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The device is finished in monolithic 3D glass style, 6.31 inch AMOLED screen, runs MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, 12 GB RAM and memory from 256 GB.

Phone leading the trend: Xiaomi 15T Pro

The Trend Leading Phone category is a race between 5 products including Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, Apple iPhone 17, Xiaomi 15T Pro, Vivo V60 and Honor 400.

Xiaomi’s smartphones have risen to the top in this category thanks to many upgrades in performance, battery life and camera. The device has a 6.83 inch screen, Dimensity 9400+ chip, 512 GB memory, 12 GB RAM. Besides, many AI features are also focused on integration, bringing a new experience.

Excellent laptop: Apple Macbook Pro 14 inch M5

The Excellent Laptop category had three finalists: Asus Zenbook S14, LG Gram AI 16 2025 and MacBook Pro 14 inch M5, in which Apple’s laptop won with a score of 8.96 points. Last year, the 16-inch MacBook Pro also topped this category.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro is the first model to use the new Apple M5 processor chip with 24-hour battery life. The M5 chip features a next-generation GPU with Neural Accelerator in each core, delivering 3.5x higher AI performance and 1.6x faster graphics processing than the previous generation. This chip line is also equipped with Apple’s third generation ray tracing technology, which increases graphics performance by 45% in applications that use ray tracing technology. Apple laptops have RAM options of 16, 24 and 32 GB, with a minimum internal memory of 512 GB.

Excellent TV: Sony Bravia 8 II

The excellent TV category is a competition between 5 products: Samsung OLED S95F, TCL QD-Mini LED C8K, LG Signature OLED M5, Xiaomi TV S Pro Mini LED 2026 and Sony Bravia 8 II Sony Bravia 8 II. As a result, Sony TV won convincingly.

Bravia 8 II is a high-end TV model that integrates a 4K QD-OLED panel and an XR processor with the ability to reproduce images with high-end color and contrast. The TV supports the Google TV operating system, voice control and provides a rich application store. The slim design, small bezels and sound system playing from the screen provide a cinema-like experience.

Best economy TV: LG QNED evo AI QNED86

LG won with the QNED evo AI model QNED86 when competing with nominations from K-Elec, Samsung, Xiaomi and TCL.

LG QNED evo AI QNED86 uses Dynamic QNED screen technology to provide a wide, accurate color range. The TV is equipped with an Alpha 8 Gen2 processor with integrated artificial intelligence, helping to optimize images according to viewing content and upgrade lower content to near 4K standard, along with many smart AI features on webOS 25 such as voice commands or convenient AI Magic Remote control. With a scan frequency of 120 Hz (supports VRR 144 Hz), QNED86 is suitable for both watching movies and other fast-paced content.

Best smart tech accessory: Xiaomi Smart Band 10

The completely new category of Tech Awards 2025 attracts many nominations for accessories with unique features that appeal to consumers. In the end, Xiaomi Smart Band 10 ranked first with 8.97 points.

Smart Band 10 is a smart bracelet equipped with a 1.72-inch AMOLED screen with a brightness of up to 1,500 nits, supports more than 150 sports modes and comprehensive health monitoring such as measuring heart rate, SpO2 and sleep, and meets the 5 ATM waterproof standard allowing it to be worn while swimming. With a 233 mAh battery, this smartband provides 21 days of use.

Tech Awards is an annual voting program since 2012 VnExpressfor outstanding technology products and brands of the year in the Vietnamese market. In the 13th year of organization, the program has 16 categories divided into four content groups, including Applications (3 categories), Devices (6 categories), Brands (6 categories) and Potential technology content creators category.

This year, the program has a new look, saying goodbye to the “S” logo and welcoming the “TA” symbol along with a series of technology – entertainment – business connection activities. This is the first year that units can nominate their own products and services in the categories, in addition to selection from the organizing committee, helping the award not to miss potential candidates.

The voting program includes two stages: Preliminary round (November 20-December 8, 2025) and Final round (December 11-31, 2025). Reader votes account for 30% of the total score, while the jury’s evaluation determines 70% of the nomination’s chance of winning an award.
