Tucker Carlson is confident: “The signs indicate – we are facing a big war”

At the center of Carlson’s analysis was Trump’s announcement about increasing the Pentagon’s budget from $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion. Carlson emphatically argued that a budget of this magnitude is not intended for peacekeeping or routine maintenance purposes, but is a clear indication that Washington is preparing for an extreme scenario. “All the signs indicate that we are facing a big war soon,” Carlson stated, adding that this is a definite war budget. For his part, in a scenario of global conflict, the United States must look at the map soberly and understand that its survival depends on an alliance, or at the very least cooperation, with Russia. He justified this by saying that Russia is the largest country in the world, with the most extensive energy and mineral resources, and that a Sino-Russian alliance is the most serious strategic threat to the West. “We cannot survive a global conflict if Russia and China are united against us,” he stressed.

The conversation also drifted into the analysis of Trump’s latest moves in Venezuela. Carlson praised the American action to oust the ousted Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and take over the oil resources, and claimed that this is an honest and refreshing admission that the United States is an empire that works for its own interests, and not under the false pretense of spreading democracy. “We’re doing this because we want the oil,” Carlson said, noting that Trump spoke the truth out loud. He claimed that the transition to the imperial phase requires serious and considered leadership, and not “hysterical people” pushing for unnecessary wars.

On the other hand, Megan Kelly expressed great skepticism regarding the military adventurism in Venezuela.
