Mestis: Jokerit beat Hermes and captured their series lead

Jokers the strong march in Mestis continued on Thursday. The team clearly beat Kokkola’s Hermes on their home ice.

The victory was already the ninth in a row for the Jokers and revenge for the team’s previous loss – on December 13th, precisely to Hermes.

The Helsinki club started the Mestis season slowly, but has been in a strong mood in recent months. In total, Jokerit has now won 19 of their last 20 matches.

Jokerit leads Mest by 13 points ahead of IPK from Iisamel. Both teams have played 33 matches.

Jokers the victory was a true example of consistent labor. Each of the six goals had its own, different factor. No single player scored more than two power points.

Jesse Liuksial scored the opening goal of the match in 4:21. Hermes soon followed with superior strength. Eemeli Takala underpowered shot the equalizing goal.

In the second set, however, the host team went for it. Veeti Räsänen, Alexander Forslund and Rasmus Lahnaviik sent the jester shirts on the run.

Wine Vehviläinen had to save only 16 times during the match.
