Sturmtief Elli caused a cancellation in the Basketball Bundesliga. The owners of the Inselpark Arena canceled the game in the BBL between the Veolia Towers Hamburg and the Vet-Concept Gladiators Trier. The game was scheduled to be played on Saturday. A catch-up date has not yet been set.
The arena closure is “as a precautionary measure due to the current snow load,” explained the Towers. The safety of visitors, athletes and staff is the top priority – especially when the roof is under heavy strain due to persistent snowfall and ice formation, the club said in a statement.
