Children’s author Tuula Korolainen has died

Writer for children and young adults Tuula Korolainen has died at the age of 77. The publisher Publiva tells about it.

Korolainen was born on April 21, 1948 in Kuusankoski. He died after a long illness on Saturday, January 10.

Korolainen had a versatile career in children’s and youth literature. He wrote, for example, poems, novels and non-fiction books for children and young people.

Korolainen received the Finland Junior award in 2005 for the book Snout towards the star. He was also awarded the state award for information disclosure.

Korolainen worked for twenty years as editor-in-chief of the Onnimanni magazine of the Children’s Book Institute. Korolainen was also known as a literary editor, critic and translator.

Before his career as a writer, Korolainen worked at Yleisradio as an editor of mother tongue and literature programs.
