According to the sources, the discussions revolve around the sale of JF-17 Thunder multi-mission fighter jets, a product of joint development by Pakistan and China. The apparent deal includes about 40 aircraft, alongside “Shahpar” type UAVs designed for surveillance and attack missions. In addition, the possibility of purchasing air defense systems and providing training to Indonesian air crews and technical teams was discussed.
While the Indonesian Ministry of Defense confirmed the meeting and noted that it was a strategic dialogue with no final decisions at this stage, other sources described the talks as being at an “advanced stage”.
