Dilbert creator Scott Adams has died

American comic book artist Scott Adams is dead, several US media reports. He was 68 years old when he died on Tuesday.

DilbertAdams, known for his cartoon, announced in May 2025 that he was suffering from aggressive prostate cancer. At that time, he had only months left to live.

The news was confirmed by Adams’ ex-wife Shelly Miles. He was reading Real Coffee With Scott Adams podcast, a statement that Adams had prepared before his death.

“I had an incredible life. I gave it my all,” the statement said.

Adams loi Dilbertin in 1989 while working as an engineer at the telephone company Pacific Bell. At its peak, the cartoon appeared in more than 2,000 newspapers around the world and gained popularity competing Tenavien and Cranberry with. “He was a fantastic guy who loved and respected me even when it was unfashionable. He bravely fought a long battle against a terrible disease,” Trump wrote.
