Stock market +35% – This year’s assessment: “I’m glad I’m wrong”

Last year, the Helsinki stock exchange returned more than 35 percent with dividends.

OP-Pohjolan rescuer Lippo Suominen there is a clear view on whether the same good bet will continue on the Helsinki Stock Exchange this year.

“It won’t continue. I can almost promise that you won’t get a return of more than 30 percent from Helsinki. I’m glad I’m wrong about this,” Suominen shook on Tuesday Kauppalehti’s live Talousaamu program.

Even if last year’s development in the Helsinki Stock Exchange is not surprising, according to Suominen, it still does not mean that the year was bad in the stock exchange.

“You have to remember that we had three negative years down there, while at the same time the world’s stocks were going up. Helsinki will specifically benefit if the growth of the global economy is broad-based,” Suominen said

Finnish companies and the country’s economy still have challenges, but according to Suominen, companies are now required to improve their results.
