Western sources indicate that measures of this type reflect a transition, according to the assessment, from a state of “routine alertness” to a state of “total defense”, and are only taken when there is a fear of a “decapitation strike” – a targeted attack against the country’s leadership or against strategic infrastructures.

Experts interpret the activation of the zero hour protocol as a sign that the Iranian regime is preparing for the possibility of a sharp escalation, both in the internal and external arena. According to estimates, the measures are primarily intended to protect the regime’s power centers, but they may also increase public anger.

At the same time, a number of senior American officials stationed in Qatar were ordered to leave the American Air Force base by tonight, according to a report in the “Reuters” news agency. It was also reported that representatives of the Indian embassy in Tehran were also instructed to leave the country.
