Arbeloa cites five youth players in a list without Mbappé, Bellingham, Rodrygo and Tchouameni against Albacete

The new coach of Real Madrid, Álvaro Arbeloa, summoned five players from the Madrid reserve team for this Wednesday’s round of 16 match of the Copa del Rey against Albacete at the Carlos Belmonte, a match for which forwards Kylian Mbappé and Rodrygo Goes, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and midfielders Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni are absent.

The merengue club announced on its website the call for the cup match against Albacete for a place in the quarterfinals of the tournament. And, for Arbeloa’s first match on the Madrid bench, the man from Salamanca will not be able to count on Mbappé, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Éder Militao, Antonio Rüdiger, Rodrygo Goes and Ferland Mendy, who are not at one hundred percent physically, while Courtois is not part of the expedition due to rest, so Andriy Lunin will play.

The news are up to five footballers that Arbeloa trained at Castilla: the defenders David Jiménez – who already made his debut in Talavera – and Joan García and the midfielders Jorge Cestero – who also made his debut at El Prado in the Cup -, Manuel Ángel Morán and César Palacios. And, without Courtois, two other youth goalkeepers enter: Fran González and Sergio Mestre.

Thus, the call is made up of goalkeepers Andriy Lunin, Fran González and Sergio Mestre; defenders Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Raúl Asencio, Fran García, Dean Huijsen, David Jiménez and Joan Martínez; the midfielders Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde, Arda Güler, Dani Ceballos, Cestero, Manuel Ángel and Palacios; and the forwards Vinícius Júnior, Gonzalo García and Franco Mastantuono.
