AFP: Riyadh said it will not allow its airspace to be used for strikes on Iran

AFP, citing two sources close to the Saudi authorities, writes that Riyadh has notified Iran that the kingdom will not allow its airspace and its territory to be used for possible attacks on Iran.

“Saudi Arabia has directly informed Tehran that it will not engage in any military action against it and that neither its territory nor airspace will be used for this purpose,” AFP quoted a source close to the Saudi military command as saying.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal wrote that a number of Arab states in the Persian Gulf (including Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar) are convincing Washington of the inappropriateness of attacks on targets in Iran, warning of the risks of destabilizing the region and turmoil in energy markets.
