“She is a woman who has gone through very difficult times, but who has managed to transform those experiences into a profound ability to bond. This way of observing others heals, connects and allows us to grow together,” the actress explained in an interview with The Day.

Rebeca, he added, “is a reminder that even from vulnerability it is possible to find strength, beauty and inner reconciliation.”

The adaptation by Juan Cabello from the novel of the same name by the Italian writer Alessandro Baricco, directed by Alonso Íñiguez, is presented at the Helético Theater of the Helético Cultural Center and proposes a sensory and intimate experience that invites us to rediscover the body, silence and presence as essential forms of communication.

Jasper Gwyn is a writer who, at the peak of his career, renounces literary prestige to explore new ways of approaching others, where contemplation takes on a transformative character.

“In a world where everything moves without rest, Rebeca teaches us to see others despite our wounds and to find, in that gesture, a way back to ourselves,” said Bauter.

Acting work requires extreme precision and fine-tuned sensitivity. Much of the process, the actress described, consisted of inhabiting the space from silence and recognizing that minimal movements can transmit deep emotions.

“There are scenes in which my character does not say a single word. A slight slouch, a posture of protection or stillness can reveal more than an entire monologue. When the emotion is powerful, the body expresses it even without text.”

The generational diversity of the cast has been another of the central learnings of the process. Bauter stressed the richness of sharing the stage with figures who marked his training, along with young actors recently graduated from schools such as the National School of Theater Arts and other institutions in the country.

“Working with my teachers and, at the same time, with new generations has been a gift. Each body and each look contributes an experience that is perceived and amplified on stage,” he said.

The cast is made up of Mauricio García Lozano, Arturo Reyes, Lucero Trejo, Alejandro Morales, Ana Sofía Gatica, Assira Abbate, Jacobo Lieberman, Abraham Jurado and Luis Ra Acosta, in addition to the artistic bodies of Silvia Herida, Alejandro Arreola, La Nars, Marina Ortiz and Enrique Cervantes.

The scenery, lighting and costumes, designed by Mauricio Ascencio, together with the sound design by Jacobo Lieberman, build a sensory atmosphere that reinforces the intimacy of the montage.

For Angélica Bauter, this project goes beyond the theatrical field and raises a reflection on identity, intimacy and the act of creating in an environment dominated by immediacy. “It invites us to return to the internal silences, to ask ourselves who we are, what we want and where we are going, without external noise,” he concluded.

The functions of Mr. White They will be on Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m., at the Helético theater of the Helético Cultural Center (1500 Revolución Avenue, Guadalupe Inn).
