Hanoi started construction on a nearly 200-hectare digital technology park

Hanoi People’s Committee and FPT announced the groundbreaking of the Digital and Mixed Technology Park to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Digital and Mixed Technology Park in Tay Tuu and Phu Dien wards took place on the morning of January 16 in Hanoi. Mr. Truong Viet Dung, City Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee, said this is an important event, marking the formation of a new development space in the Capital, where science, technology and innovation are placed in a central position, where intelligence, technology, high-quality human resources and modern development models converge.

The project aims to implement Resolution 15 of the Politburo on building Hanoi Capital into a major center of economics, culture, education – training, science – technology and international integration. This is also a step to concretize the implementation of Resolution 57, in which the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation is the decisive factor for development in the new era.

The project is designed with three main components. The focus is on a focused digital technology park, innovation and digital transformation with an area of ​​about 168.9 hectares. Of which, the core functional area accounts for about 25%, focusing on research, development, and production of key digital technology products and services such as software, digital platforms, digital data, AI, big data, IoT, blockchain, metaverse; At the same time, arrange training facilities, technology incubators, and spaces connecting institutes – schools – businesses. The remaining area of ​​the park is organized in an open park model, with internal transportation infrastructure, parking lots, green space, and water surface, creating a high-quality working, research, and living environment.

The project implementation period is from 2026 to 2031, with the first item expected to be put into operation in 2027. When in operation, the project is estimated to meet the working needs of about 60,000 experts, digital technology engineers, innovators and auxiliary workers. “More importantly, this is a new implementation organization model, capable of creating a guiding impact and important motivation for Hanoi to improve the quality of human resources, forming an innovation community large enough to spread throughout the City,” said Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Truong Viet Dung.

The Digital and Mixed Technology Park project is implemented according to the model of the State implementing planning management, policy mechanisms and supervision, while the investor directly invests and operates the whole thing, ensuring flexibility, efficiency and suitability with the rapid development characteristics of the technology sector. This shows the effectiveness of the tripartite cooperation model between the State – scientists – businesses in creating a research and working environment that meets international standards, promoting the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

“In the new era, technology is not only the driving force for growth or productivity, but the foundation for Vietnam to maintain autonomy, self-reliance, self-reliance and protect the country. For people to be able to research, develop and master technology, an important condition is to have a worthy space for learning, working and creativity,” said Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Group. He believes that the project will contribute to gradually realizing the aspiration of a “Vietnam’s Silicon Valley”.
