Nokia’s competitor Ericsson plans to cut 1,600 jobs in Sweden

Network devices manufacturer Ericsson plans to cut around 1,600 jobs in Sweden, the company says in its press release.

The personnel reductions are part of the measures with which the company aims to secure its own competitive position. The job cuts are part of a broader plan to contain costs.

Swedish public broadcasting company The SVT according to Ericsson has approximately 12,600 employees in Sweden. If implemented, the personnel reductions would therefore mean a reduction of more than 10 percent in the workforce.

Last time, Ericsson announced significant job cuts in 2024. At that time, the company announced that it would cut 1,200 jobs.
