María Corina says that Delcy is following Trump’s orders

“Delcy is following orders, she is not in an agreement”, declared the opponent.

According to María Corina, Delcy Rodríguez – who held the position of vice president during the Nicolás Maduro regime – directly fears President Trump. According to the opponent, this factor would explain the stance of the Venezuelan interim government after the US operation on the 3rd, which culminated in the capture of Maduro.

The United States government excluded María Corina Machado from the formal political transition process in Venezuela as it assessed that, at this moment, the opposition leader did not have sufficient political support to assume power. According to President Trump, this reading led Washington to prioritize direct negotiations with the interim regime of Delcy Rodríguez, considered by the Republican to be under his tutelage.

Machado met with Trump for the first time this Thursday (15) and stated that he presented the American president with the Nobel Peace Prize medal as a gesture of “gratitude” for Maduro’s capture. According to her, despite the uncertainties, there is an expectation of an “orderly transition” in Venezuela.

The opposition leader also said that she is working to return to the country together with Edmundo González Urrutia, the winner of the 2024 presidential elections.
