303,000 visitors to the Vittoriale degli Italiani in 2025

2025 ended for the Vittoriale degli Italiani, the home of the poet and writer Gabriele d’Annunzio on Lake Garda, with an all-time high: 303,000 visitors. The confirmation of the attendance numbers of the previous year indicates that the work carried out by the Vittoriale is giving solid and lasting results, explains the president of the Gardone Riviera Foundation (Brescia), Giordano Bruno Guerri: “the commitment to studies, research and valorisation of the archives, together with a program of events capable of opening the D’Annunzio complex to an increasingly wider public, national and international, demonstrates that the path taken is the right one”.

Guerri declares: “In March 2025 we celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Priory to the public, in the presence – affectionate, not just formal – of the minister Alessandro Giuli and inaugurated the hologram of Gabriele d’Annunzio, created to answer any questions from the public and allow a direct relationship with the Pope, his voice, his image, his thoughts. Less than a year later we decided to do it all over again, to improve it the appearance and correct some limitations and defects of AI, as is the power and duty of human intelligence. It is a further demonstration of our desire to always improve, not to settle, to offer more and more to visitors. Our visitors have rewarded us again this year, increasing to an all-time high, albeit by a few hundred, over 303,000 units: despite the closure – since September, for the restoration and finally the lighting – of the Mausoleum and for the reconstruction from scratch; of the Auditorium. The two works involve a considerable economic, planning and work commitment, but next March we will inaugurate both, to offer an ever more beautiful Vittoriale of the Italians, ever more worthy of its creator and of our great country”.

Furthermore, over the past year, 102 scholars attended the Archives and Libraries, over 800 primary and secondary school students from all over Italy participated in the annual GardaMusei Scuole project, 8 exhibitions were inaugurated and 35 events were held including the Vittoriale festivals and cultural events hosted. “These results continue to place the Vittoriale among the most visited house museums in the world, not only for the value of the preserved heritage, but also for a careful and effective management model, of a cultural enterprise capable of communicating with today’s public”, concludes Guerri.
