The price of electricity will drop clearly on Friday – at the cheapest, less than 3 cents/kWh

The average hourly price of exchange electricity for consumers (incl. VAT 25.5 percent) will decrease on Friday. The highest hourly price of the day is 8.4 cents per kilowatt-hour at 9 o’clock in the morning. The price is close to the typical average price of around seven to eight cents.

The hourly prices stated in the article are averages calculated from the four quarter-hour prices for each hour. The electricity exchange Nord Pool switched to 15-minute pricing from the beginning of October 2025.

Friday prices are mostly reasonable or low. At its lowest, electricity costs 2.5 cents per kilowatt-hour late at night at 11 p.m. This is clearly below the typical price level of around four cents.

The price level is significantly lower than on Thursday, when the price rises to its highest in the evening. On Thursday at 6 p.m., the hourly price is 15.0 cents per kilowatt hour. Such high prices, hovering between 10 and 20 cents, occur about a fifth of the time.
