Singer Julio Iglesias denies accusations of sexual harassment

Vocalist Julio Iglesias denies allegations of sexual harassment. On Friday, he published a message on his Instagram account in which he says the accusations are “completely false”.

“I deny that I have abused, forced or treated any woman with disrespect. The accusations are completely false and deeply sad,” the 82-year-old Iglesias wrote in an Instagram post.

HS reported earlierthat two former employees accuse Iglesias of sexual harassment. The women worked at the singer’s residencies in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas in 2021.

Former employeesa domestic helper and physiotherapist, said that Iglesias engaged in “physical, mental and sexual violence and constant harassment”. Spanish news site El Diario.es and Spanish-language television channel Univision Noticias are investigating allegations against Iglesias for three years.

Evidence material was collected from 15 former employees who worked under the singer between the end of the 1990s and the year 2023. Authorities in Spain are investigating the allegations.

This is Iglesias’ first public comment on the accusations. El Diario.es and Univision Noticias previously reported that despite repeated requests, Iglesias and his lawyer did not respond to the allegations before they were published.

Iglesias has been a household name in Spain since the 1960s. His records have sold millions around the world.
