US announces Executive Board for Gaza with Tony Blair and Rubio

The list is completed by Marc Rowan, director of Apollo Global Management; Roberto Gabriel, Trump advisor; and Ajay Banga, president of the World Bank.

According to the White House, each member of this Executive Board will assume specific portfolios, including “strengthening governance capacity, regional relations, reconstruction, attracting investment, ensuring large-scale financing and mobilizing capital”.

It was also announced that the High Representative for Gaza will be Bulgarian Nickolay Mladenov, who was his country’s Foreign Minister and UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process.

It was also indicated that Jasper Jeffers, US Army special operations commander, will head the International Stabilization Force (IFE), the UN contingent tasked with ensuring the security and demilitarization of Gaza, as stipulated in Trump’s peace plan.

The announcement of the composition of the Executive Board comes after the White House announced, this week, the second phase of Trump’s peace plan for Gaza, which involves the formation of a technocratic government in the enclave and the disarmament of the terrorist group Hamas.

The names announced will be responsible for implementing the plans of the Peace Council, a commission chaired by Trump himself that oversees the implementation of the plan for the enclave.

The council will also oversee Gaza’s new government, called the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, which will be made up of 15 members and led by engineer Ali Shaaz.

The first phase of the peace plan, which began in October, called for a ceasefire, the release of all hostages and the entry of humanitarian aid into the enclave, although since then attacks have occurred in Gaza.

This second phase includes the formation of a new government in the enclave, which must be composed of Palestinians who are not members of Hamas.
