Sentimental Value swept the table at the “European Oscars”

Danish-Norwegian director Joachim Trierin movie Sentimental Value collected the most European Film Awards this year. On Saturday, the film won six awards called the “European Oscars”.

Sentimental Value was awarded as the best European film of the year, and Trier won the European director of the year award. Actor Stellan Skarsgård received the best European male actor award for his performance in the film. Renee Reinsve in turn won the best European actress award.

The film was also awarded for the best screenplay and music.

Sentimental Value tells about the tragedy and transgenerational pain experienced by an artist family. Reinsve plays theater actress Nora in the film, and Skarsgård plays her father Gustav.

Second the most awards were won by a Spanish director Oliver Laxen movie Sirâtwhich was awarded in five categories. The film received awards for best cinematography, editing, set design, sound design and casting.

Finnish films were completely without nominations and awards this year.

The European Film Awards are awarded by the European Film Academy.
