“Rafael” will equip tanks of four NATO countries with “Windbreakers” for 1.2 billion shekels

The Israeli state defense concern Rafael announced a deal to supply active protection systems of the Meil ​​Ruach type (Windbreaker, Trophy) to four countries of the North Atlantic Alliance for a total amount of about 330 million euros (about 1.2 billion shekels).

As part of a partnership with the German-French corporation KNDS, Rafael, through its European subsidiary EuroTrophy GmbH, will equip Leopard 2 tanks of the A8 model with “Windbreakers” for the armies of the Czech Republic, Croatia, Lithuania and the Netherlands.

In addition to the actual supply of systems, the deal includes the supply of spare parts, training and logistics support.

In addition to IDF tanks, the system has already been installed on the US Army’s Abrams tanks, as well as on the German Army’s Leopard 2 tanks. In addition, the armies of Sweden and Spain previously announced the acquisition of Leopard tanks equipped with the system.
