Target and tools: the project ecosystem

The program is aimed at an audience of around 6,000 young people, typically aged between 18 and 30, with three years’ service experience. The objective is to overcome the mismatch between military skills (soft skills such as leadership, resilience and stress management) and the demands of the labor market.

The agreement is part of a vision of “integrated defence”, where the social value of the service is recognized through concrete support for post-military careers. According to the Undersecretary of State for Defense, Hon. Matteo Perego of Cremnago, the initiative intends “capitalize on the experience gained in the Armed Forces to create new opportunities that can be spent in the job market“. For the Undersecretary, the model is not just a placement tool, but a way to strengthen “the diffusion of the defense culture, an essential pillar desired by Minister Crosetto“.

Skills as a selection criterion

In the current economic scenario, skills-based hiring is overtaking the traditional model based exclusively on qualifications. Germano Buttazzo, Talent Solutions Leader of LinkedIn Italia, underlined how the skills developed during the service represent a concrete value: “In fact, in the current world of work, skills are the first and most relevant criterion in the search for talent“.

The project also benefited from the technical contribution of the Relatech group and BTO, who took care of the aspects of change management and organizational innovation, necessary to integrate institutional processes with the dynamics of the digital sector. The final objective is to generate a lasting impact on the productive fabric, offering companies profiles characterized by a high sense of responsibility and orientation towards results.
