Pliško lost the case against Pula: the court sided with Peđa Grbin

The Administrative Court in Rijeka found that there are no prerequisites for conducting the dispute and dismissed the lawsuit filed by the dismissed member of the Theater Council of the Istrian National Theater Sanela Pliško against the City of Pula due to the evaluation of the legality of the decision on her dismissal, the City of Pula reported on Wednesday.

Dismissed member of the Theater Council, Sanela Pliško, filed a lawsuit against the City of Pula at the Administrative Court in Rijeka, after the Pula Mayor Pe&dstrok Grbin dismissed her without explanation in the middle of the competition for the new director of the theater.

“I started the dispute in order to review the correctness of the dismissal procedure in a legal and institutional manner. I believe that the court is the place where this case can and must be resolved, without political pressure. This is not a personal calculation or a grudge, but a conscious decision to use the democratic rights that are available to each of us,” Pliško told reporters after submitting tužbu.

The city of Pula received a decision by which the Administrative Court found that the founder’s representatives were exercising management powers, and were not exercising their subjective rights, nor was it a word; about professional duty that would include rights from the employment relationship. Consequently, there is no subjective right to become or remain a member of the Theater Council until the end of the mandate.

Therefore, the Administrative Court in Rijeka found that there are no prerequisites for conducting the dispute and rejected the complaint of Sanela Pliško.

Explaining the decision to dismiss Pliško, Grbin said that the Statute of the Istrian National Theater states that a person who is on the Theater Council should not be in a business relationship with the theater.

“The current council member Sanela Pliško is not the one who works, but the institution where she is employed, the Pula Film Festival, is indeed in a business relationship with the Istrian National Theatre,” he stated.

Grbin appointed Slađana Pletikos in her place from the independent list of coalition partner Goran Mihovilova, who has no work experience in culture.
