La Luna is the new tourist destination: you can now reserve a room for $250,000

Space tourism is one of the options to make the Moon profitable. In the midst of the space race, some companies are seeing business opportunities and the tourism sector is one of the closest alternatives. The reservation cost? Nothing less than 250 thousand dollars.

The challenge has been taken up by a company called GRU Space. However, the problem is that you are offering to reserve something that does not yet exist. In fact, NASA is barely trying to orbit the natural satellite with a manned mission this year.

What you have is an early access application program. It is a way of selecting passengers and the possibility they have to travel, reported Xataka.

The first step to reserve is a registration that costs one thousand dollars, with no possibility of refund. Then there are the payment possibilities, between 250 thousand dollars and one million. It is estimated that the final cost could be around $10 million.

This idea comes from Skyler Chan, founder of the startup. And one way to convince its investors is that learning could serve as a foundation for broader infrastructure.

It even has a schedule. This 2026 registration opens, in 2027 routes are planned and in 2029 a construction load would be transferred. If everything continues as planned, the first hotel on the Moon could be ready in 2032.
