Al Ghione “Théma-On the notes of the great Italian cinema” with Nadia Natali

With the contribution of Graziano Maraffa and the Historical Archive of Italian Cinema, Théma presents itself as an original, elegant, sophisticated and at the same time popular proposal. Ninety minutes that will involve spectators in a musical journey made up of sixteen songs, re-proposed with elegant arrangements, linked together by short prose interventions in which Nadia Natali and the musicians, who will act as her “supporters”, will lead spectators by the hand to encounter the magic of the big screen. Pino Tafuto (arrangements and piano), Davide Costagliola (double bass) Stefano Iorio (cello) Franco Ponzo (guitar), Emidio Ausiello (percussion), Gabriel Ambrosone (accordion), Peppe Di Colandrea (clarinet and sax), will accompany Natali on the stage of the Capitoline theater on the debut evening.

During the evening, the Roman artist will be presented with the award from ‘Guang Hua cultures et media’, the most important Chinese-language media reality in Europe, representing the Commission of the 10th Chinese Film Festival in Italy. “An important recognition – says the note – attributed to people from the world of cinema, entertainment and institutions who, through the universal language of cinema, contribute to bringing ethnic groups and cultures closer together, and breaking down those slender but solid ideological barriers that undermine the human race”.

A prestigious artistic curriculum for Nadia Natali who, after thirty-five years of career between TV, concerts and theatre, returns as a one woman show on the Ghione stage, telling a collective dream in music and paying homage to auteur cinema. “The great Italian films have given me countless ideas, expressions, stolen jokes, images, costumes and music – declares Nadia Natali – At the cinema we tend to dream and I love to dream. For fifteen years I have chosen to dedicate my voice to Rome and the great Italian cinema is part of the national and, let me say, Roman soul: as if Cinecittà had put it in the bottle as soon as we were born. Over the years I have discovered that the soundtracks of those immortal films have become part of the collective imagination. I am a thoroughbred Roman, proud to bear the title of “Voice of Rome”: I feel it is the greatest honor. My language is music, I dream in music, I live in music, and I know that Italian cinema is a great musical dream. Therefore, with this show, I want the public to close their eyes and dream with me of flying among the notes of the most exciting film ever seen so far Théma, make a real dream come true.”
