A grim prediction of the world’s memory chaos

Data centers will eat up to 70 percent of the world’s RAM this year, and worse is to come, technology website Tom’sHardware tells financial magazine Wall Street Journal (WSJ) information siteerates.

According to the WSJ, the production capacity of working and mass memories has already been sold out until 2028, and this has huge implications for the automotive and consumer electronics industries, among others.

The memory shortage further accelerates the price increase of electronic products. According to the magazine, ram memories will make up 10 percent of the price of consumer electronics in the future. In smartphones, the share of the price can rise up to 30 percent.

This is a permanent emphasis on covering the memory needs of data centers, experts interviewed by the magazine estimate. A Taiwanese market research and consulting company Trend Forces analyst Avril Wun according to the memory manufacturing industry is currently experiencing a period of revolution.
