Yle coach Inka Henelius was injured in a floorball tournament

Mightily longtime sports reporter Inka Heenalius was injured on Tuesday in the traditional indoor basketball tournament of Helsinki sports journalists.

Henelius, 46, was injured in the first round match against the students of Laajasalo’s sports journalist line.

Henelius told in the afternoon Instagram in his stories that the work trip to the Milan-Cortina Olympics turns into a sick leave. He confirmed at the same time that his Achilles tendon had ruptured in the situation.

The goalkeeper of the Laajasalo team Rasmus Matilainen said that he saw that Henelius fell to the ground without making contact with another player. Matilainen works at Ilta-Sanom as an intern.

According to Matilainen, Henelius immediately received first aid on the field. In the end, Henelius’ colleague ended up calling an ambulance.

Henelius, who was in severe pain, was helped to the side of the field to wait for an ambulance, and the ambulance arrived in less than 15 minutes.

Matilainen said that the situation remained calm.

Originally from Lappeenranta Henelius updated his situation in Instagram stories in the afternoon.

”RIP [lepää rauhassa] Achilles of Porvoo. Sähly is a great game,” Henelius wrote.

“I’m not dead after all,” Henelius wrote with a smiley emoji.

He also thanked his colleagues for the good first aid.

The sports journalists’ floorball championship was won by Viaplay, who beat Iltalehti in the final. Ilta-Sanomat took bronze.
