Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) canceled a shipment of crude oil destined for Cuba, according to information published by the US media Bloomberg. He explained that the cargo was going to be carried by the ship Swift Galaxy.

The Day requested a comment about Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex). The company said it had no information in this regard. Meanwhile, sources from the Secretary of Foreign Affairs told this newspaper that until last night no measure of this type was known.

According to Bloomberg, Pemex was scheduled to ship the shipment in mid-January so that it would arrive at a Cuban port at the end of the month.

The media detailed that the cargo was removed from Pemex’s schedule without explanation.

The alleged cancellation of the oil shipment to Cuba would have occurred at a time when the president of the United States, Donald Trump, has attacked the island on social networks.

“Cuba survived for many years thanks to oil and money from Venezuela. In exchange, Cuba provided security services to the last two Venezuelan dictators, but not anymore! Most of those Cubans have died after last week’s US attack, and Venezuela no longer needs protection from the thugs and extortionists who kept them kidnapped for so many years.

“Venezuela now has the United States, the most powerful army in the world (by far!), to protect them, and we will protect them. There will be no more oil or money for Cuba! Zero! I strongly suggest that you reach an agreement before it is too late,” he published on January 11.
