Meta is preparing for a structural change in the monetization model of its main platforms. The core of this technological evolution lies in the integration of generative artificial intelligence systems previously offered for free or acquired through multi-billion dollar market operations. Vibes, the short video creation system launched in September 2025, will move to a freemium model, limiting more sophisticated creative options to subscribers only. At the same time, the Manus suite of intelligent agents, acquired last December for around two billion dollars, will become an integral part of the premium offering.
In addition to AI enhancement, the new subscription plans could introduce analysis and interaction tools that are particularly requested by the user base. On Instagram, rumors suggest the possibility of managing unlimited audience lists, precisely monitoring accounts that do not follow back and viewing stories anonymously. This revenue diversification strategy responds to Meta’s need to monetize the huge investments made for the development of the Llama family of models. Unlike competitors such as OpenAI or Google, which apply fees for access to the most advanced models, Zuckerberg is attempting the path of integration into the daily flows of social networks, betting on users’ willingness to pay for a more granular and assisted user experience.
