Ynet: Religious and ultra-Orthodox NGOs receive most of the Ministry of Aliyah’s subsidies

In particular, four NGOs associated with the ultra-Orthodox Chabad movement received about 640 thousand shekels, more than 6 times more than in 2024.

According to social activist Alex Tenzer, NGOs working with repatriates from Russia received only 192,082 shekels, NGOs working with repatriates from Ethiopia received only 183,109 shekels. NGOs of repatriates from South Africa received 114 thousand shekels. The Union of Repatriates from Latin America received 164,638 shekels. An NGO promoting the optimal absorption of repatriates from France received only 75,916 shekels. The Union of English-Speaking Repatriates received 119,517 shekels.

Tenzer said he plans to file a complaint with the government comptroller and legal counsel.

The Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption said that “the distribution of subsidies is carried out according to uniform, professional and objective criteria, providing equal opportunities to all associations and organizations – without any connection to affiliation, identity or a particular target audience.”
