Portugal hit by storm Kristin, deaths and extensive damage

Storm Kristin, which hit Portugal last night, caused at least four deaths in the Lisbon region and in the central part of the country. This was reported by the Portuguese Civil Protection.

Among the victims there was a person in Vila Franca de Xira, on the outskirts of Lisbon, whose car was hit by a tree. Another person died in Monte Real, in the Leiria district (central Portugal), due to the collapse of a metal structure. Two other victims were registered in the municipality of Leiria.

With heavy downpours and wind gusts of up to 150 km/h, Storm Kristin also caused extensive damage.
