Once helpless with her “bread” waist even though she practiced yoga, Ms. Nhung, 41 years old, found the “key” to changing her figure and reversing aging by changing her natural eating mindset.
Ms. Lanh Thi Hong Nhung is 41 years old, lives in Buon Don, is a traditional medicine physician, specializing in acupuncture and traditional medicine. Even though she has medical knowledge and diligently practiced exercise and yoga for 3 years, she still couldn’t help but feel frustrated because her belly was too big. At the age of 38 (year 2023), with a height of 1m52, her figure has not yet achieved the desired balance.
The turning point came when her family went through great challenges: her biological father had end-stage liver cancer, and her mother-in-law had an accident and had to be cared for for a long time. The process of taking care of her loved ones left her exhausted and depressed both physically and mentally. At this time, awareness of protecting one’s health and finding a scientific nutritional regimen for the whole family becomes more urgent than ever.

She decided to participate in the program “Eat Delicious – Waist Slim” from November 25, 2023 with the goal: Change to be healthy and help her father have a nutritious diet without having to diet harshly.
After only 3 months of persistently applying the new method, the results surprised even those involved. Ms. Nhung did not lose weight deeply because her body was not fat, but her body structure completely changed.
Weight decreased from 48 kg to 44.5 kg. The waistline was “removed” by 10 cm of excess fat, from 72 cm to 62 cm. The most miraculous thing is that at that time, at the real age of 38, her biological measurements were equivalent to those of a 29 year old – up to 9 years younger than her real age. Although the concept of biological age still has some debate in the scientific community, the obvious increase in her endurance and energy level is undeniable real evidence.
In particular, she shared her greatest joy that the Basedow’s disease (popularly known as toxic tumor) that she suffered from has improved significantly thanks to changing her lifestyle. Graves’ disease occurs because the thyroid gland produces too much hormone. High levels of thyroid hormone in the blood cause tissue and metabolic damage. The biological manifestations of the disease are a diffuse tumor and an angioma, hypertrophy and proliferation of the parenchyma. According to Ms. Nhung, when the body is properly cleansed and nourished, its self-healing ability is activated.
Many people are afraid that dieting will disrupt family activities, but for Ms. Nhung, the secret lies in harmony. She applies a diet with all 4 nutrient groups for the whole family, including animal protein (pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, fish…); vegetable protein (peas, bean sprouts, mung bean, dragon bean…); green vegetables (priority is given to dark green vegetables to optimize micronutrients) and starch (rice, vermicelli, pho, sweet potatoes, taro, cassava…).
The menu prioritizes fresh foods, simple preparation, limits fried foods, no need to cook separately, just approximate the appropriate ratio.
Ms. Nhung believes: “Every day’s menu only needs to have enough nutrients. You can eat whatever you like as long as it’s in the right proportion. If you eat well and eat enough, then your spirit will be comfortable, and if you’re comfortable, then you’ll be sustainable.”

Besides nutrition, her family maintains a gentle exercise habit. 3-4 times a week, the whole family walks and jogs together for about 15 minutes in the morning. No pressure, no overwork, movement becomes the thread that connects members.
Many studies have proven the outstanding benefits of walking. Research from Stanford University shows that walking, especially in nature, stimulates creative thinking. The University of Essex found that walking outside for 5 minutes improved mood and reduced stress.
In the magazine Hypertensionresearch shows that brisk walking helps reduce blood pressure, while the work published on Diabetes Care It is confirmed that walking 15 minutes after meals helps control blood sugar. In addition, the National Institute of Mental Health (USA) said walking for 90 minutes in nature reduces negative thoughts and enhances mental health.
Still Running is an effective way to burn calories in a short period of time, the number of calories you burn while running will vary depending on your body size, speed and duration of running, according to Verywellfit. According to statistics from the American Weight Control Registry, people who successfully lose weight and keep it off burn about 2,800 calories per week through planned exercise. This is equivalent to an adult needing to run 45 km per week.
The change in body shape not only helped Ms. Nhung become more confident but also brought new vitality to the whole family. Since her two children switched to a nutritious diet, their illnesses have completely decreased.

As a medical practitioner, these practical experiences have helped her gain valuable knowledge to guide patients. She helps them understand the origin of diseases such as fatty liver, blood fat, high cholesterol… which mostly come from lifestyle and diet.
“Changing your lifestyle is a sustainable, lifelong journey that anyone can do. When the body is healthy, it will automatically know how to heal,” the female physician from Buon Don shared. Currently, she still maintains the habit of “Eat well – Slim waist” and spreads the spirit of healthy, natural living to everyone around her.
