Teva expands recall of Nutrilon AD baby food due to dangerous toxin

The Ministry of Health and Teva Israel are announcing a recall of Nutrilon AR 900 g and Nutrilon AR 400 g, intended for infants with frequent spitting up (reflux), following a notification from the manufacturer in Europe.

These baby foods have been removed from sale in dozens of countries around the world due to the discovery of the toxin cerulide in one of the ingredients. This toxin is produced by the bacteria Bacillus cereus and can be present in fatty acids that are a component of infant formula.

The Ministry of Health has ordered Teva to conduct additional laboratory tests on products sold in Israel that are suspected of containing the toxin. During inspections, it was found that in a certain batch of Nutrilon AR baby food, the level of cerulide exceeded the threshold values.

In this regard, Teva announces the recall from sale of Nutrilon AR baby food in 400 g and 900 g packs from lot 2026.12.01. The date of production of goods is 06/01/2025, expiration date is until 12/01/2026. Those who purchased products from these batches are asked not to eat them.

In rare cases, cerulide toxin can cause vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhea and weakness. If you suspect harm to your health, you should consult a doctor.
