Elon Musk could merge SpaceX into xAI or Tesla

Elon Musk is expected to merge the aerospace company SpaceX into the artificial intelligence company xAI or the car company Tesla.

Bloomberg said that SpaceX and Tesla will “come together” so that Musk’s ambition to build a space data center can be accelerated. At the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos last week, the billionaire said “the lowest cost place to deploy AI will be in space and that will become true within two years, three years at the latest”.

Still following ReutersSpaceX will merge with xAI, done this year, before the initial public offering (IPO). This helps unite products such as the Grok chatbot, X social network, Starlink satellites and SpaceX rockets under one corporation.

Some recent signs suggest the plan is afoot. According to TechCruncha filing shows two new businesses were incorporated in Nevada on January 21 called K2 Merger Sub Inc. and K2 Merger Sub 2 LLC, Musk is likely keeping his options open.

In recent times, Musk’s companies have also frequently shared resources. Last year, SpaceX agreed to invest two billion USD in xAI, according to WSJ. This week, Tesla poured two billion dollars into the artificial intelligence startup. Also last year, xAI acquired X – a deal in which Musk valued xAI at $80 billion and X at $33 billion. SpaceX is currently the most valuable private company in the world, valued at $800 billion.
