Residents are unable to reach cars buried in snow

If you think that what is happening in the land of cold is extreme, wait until you see what is happening now in Kamchatka, a region in Russia that is considered one of the coldest in the world.

Since December there has been a rampage in Kamchatka (Kamchatka), extreme weather that led to a huge amount of snow that was defined as a “once-in-a-generation storm”.

According to reports, during the various storms an unusual amount of snow fell even by local standards – over two and a half meters in parts of Kamchatka, turning streets into narrow hand-dug corridors and leaving vehicles buried for days or more.

Although every year Kamchatka experiences extreme weather, this year it stood out especially because it came in rapid waves and did not give the region time to recover between systems. Thus, as mentioned, more than 2 meters of snow piled up in parts of the peninsula. In the urban area, the depth of the snow reached 170 centimeters with a drift that created over 2.5 meters in some neighborhoods.

Daily life in the place came to a halt, roads were blocked, entrances to houses were blocked and parked vehicles were buried deep under the snow. There are also flight delays and cancellations in the area, and reduction of public transportation and school schedules.
