X’s offices were searched in Paris, Elon Musk was summoned to the prosecutor’s office

French police raided the Paris office of Elon Musk’s company X. Musk himself, as well as the company’s former CEO Linda Yaccarino, have been invited to testify at the prosecutor’s office.

“At this stage, the investigation is based on a constructive approach, the purpose of which is to ensure that the platform complies with French law, since the company operates on the territory of our country,” said Paris prosecutor Laure Bequois.

Suspicions raised by law enforcement agencies relate to the production and distribution of pornographic materials, including those involving minors, denial of crimes against humanity – in particular the Holocaust, and obtaining information fraudulently using algorithms.

The main suspicions concern the ability of the Grok chatbot to create erotic and pornographic images based on photographs of real people using deepfake technology. A few weeks ago, the company announced that this feature would be blocked.
