The Atlassian Williams F1 team, in which the Spanish Carlos Sainz races, presented this Tuesday the livery of its car for the 2026 season, the “bold and modern” FW48, thus revealing the new image of the team at the beginning of the new regulatory era of Formula 1, with the objective of “compete and win.”
Drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz, along with team manager James Vowles, presented the design of the new FW48 to Grove’s 1,200 employees, who “have dedicated tens of thousands of hours to preparing for the upcoming season.”
“The 2026 livery has been designed to reflect the team’s bold intention as it transitions into a new era as Atlassian Williams F1 Team, a name that reflects the team’s sole objective: to compete and win at the pinnacle of motorsport,” the team’s statement highlighted.
The FW48 is bathed in a vibrant bright blue, an “unmistakably” Williams color that reflects the partnership with Atlassian. This contrasts with a flowing section of black, extending from the side of the chassis to the rear of the car, framed by a red and white line, a feature of World Cup-winning Williams cars such as Nigel Mansell’s FW14B and Damon Hill’s FW18, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary.
The most striking evolution of the livery comes from the introduction of white on the side sidepods, front wing and rear wing, which “injects energy and movement into the design and amplifies the presence” of the sponsors.
The new look of the Atlassian Williams F1 Team was revealed hours after the announcement of a major new global collaboration with Barclays. Over the past two weeks, the team has also welcomed Anthropic, BNY, Wilkinson Sword and Nuveen.
The entire Grove team is determined to push the boundaries of performance with the FW48, and sees the new regulations as an opportunity to take the next step on Williams’ path to the top. In 2026, the Atlassian Williams F1 Team looks to build on its most successful season in nine years.
Vowles recalled that “2026 is the next step on the road back to the top for the Williams team.” “We are entering a new era for this sport, and we are very excited about the season ahead,” he said.
“We have a great driver line-up, fantastic new partners, an ever-growing fan base and we want to build on the success we had last year, but we are not naïve to the challenge ahead. No one really knows what will happen in the first race, but we are looking forward to finding out,” he added.
For his part, Carlos Sainz defended that “the livery of the FW48 is a true statement of intent for 2026”, with a design that “pays tribute to Williams’ heritage, while adopting a fresh and dynamic look for the new era.” “I’m excited to race in this livery and share the excitement with fans around the world,” he said.
“It’s always special to see a new livery for the first time, and the FW48 looks incredible. The design really stands out: it’s bold, modern and unmistakably Williams. I can’t wait for the fans to see it on the track and cheer us on in 2026,” concluded Alex Albon.
